Terminator Skull

I like to call this bad boy the Terminator Skull, but Machine Skull would probably be as good or better as a name. As far as I know the Terminator never did show what his skull looked like.

Terminator Skull

We sell this skull in our retail store and online. This skull (like almost all pieces we sell) are hand crafted and often become unavailable after a time, either because the artist make other work, or other reasons. If you see something that you can't live without — get it now! The websites to buy it is gargoylestore.com and skullsmith.com

The Terminator Skull is cold cast bronze.

Chrome Plated Skull

Back in stock is our 'Chrome Plated' skull!

The chrome plated skull was a popular piece for some time at our website — but alas — the pice was retired! Well, I have located another vendor — and so here is the 'Chrome Plated Skull!'

Chrome Skull

I have trouble photographing this piece (photographing anything is not as easy as  everyone thinks! Remember the photograph is a substitute to actually coming into the shop and picking up the item). This skull is a shiny chromy metal, it looks a bit flatter in the photograph.

This piece is 5 1/2" tall and priced at $39.

Hand Painted Skull by John Cloud

My shop has several resident artists, including John Cloud. John has created a line of hand painted skulls that I sell here in the shop.

The one pictured below is 4" 1/2" tall, it is (obviously) a human skull. John started with a resin cast skull that I sell and added acrylic paint.

This one is $89, others are available from $29.

The Skull is a Machine

The human skull is a machine designed by nature nearly 500 million years ago to protect the brain. A model of mechanical efficiency, each of the skull’s features is built to support specific functions, including locating food, eating and sensory intake, and of course surrounding and protecting the fragile brain.

The attached pic is from Gray's Anatomy -- a classic book on the human anatomy published in 1918.

Extreme Tribal Skull

This collectible skull statue is one of my favorites! I call it "Extreme Tribal Skull," it was designed in the UK, and has what I think is a cool, contemporary look.

Extreme Tribal skull is about 5 1/2", made of resin, and sells for $59.

"Today, the skull is as popular as it ever was. In movies, games, literature, comics, and tattoos, the skull continues to gather different symbolic implications as the creative imagination of the artist lets loose. Some designs are humorous, some macabre and threatening, But always, death is part of the picture."

The Opening Blog Post about Skulls

I choose this pic to start this blog about skulls for quite a few reasons. The pic uses a business card to show scale, and the card is my old business name of about seven years ago, so I liked to include it in the pic as a bit of memory lane and or history.

Also this skull is made in the U.S.A., and because it is made in America it sells for a premium as compared to skulls imported from China. Because of the price premium this skull does not sell as compared to a cheaper piece. I guess that is OK -- not sure.

This skull is also the first piece that my artist made when he started out -- and while not the first that I have sold -- it is among the first.

This blog is about my web sites that sell collectible skulls. Skulls sell for prices from $4 on up to about $75, made mostly of plaster and resin.
